On the 24th of January I headed off to Meadowhall to meet up with Chloe and Laura, like we do. We had arranged to meet at Costa but it turned out to be closed for refurbishment, so we went to Starbucks round by Next and Yours. We sat for ages chatting; as I said my mum was due to have a mastectomy and life had been really stressful so it was very good to have people to chat with for a while. I am so grateful for close friends!
We went into a few shops but I was trying to not spend money so I didn't get much. That's fine, though, we all just go where we want and wait for others to go where they want too. We ended up at Wagamama for lunch which was my choice as it had just been my birthday. They've put more tables out the front of the restaurant in the Oasis, which is good as it's always full. They're booths so we sat there which was nice actually.
They have upped their menu game too. I usually get the same thing but I decided to go for something different. I had vegan chicken teriyaki which comes with a limo mayo and is fully vegan. It was absolutely delicious and I'm so glad I tried it! Then I had tofu sambal which is also new. I wouldn't get it again because it is quite tomatoey but I'm glad I tried it. I most probably had the cherry blossom lemonade, too.
After lunch we went in a few more shops and then headed to the new Hotel Chocolat cafe for a drink. I had noticed it a couple of weeks prior when I went to Meadowhall with Lee and he and I had had a hot chocolate in it. The shop has moved to just outside the Oasis and the cafe is in there. I've been to the one in Leeds so was very excited and I knew Laura would love it too. So we went. I had a milkshake and then because we were sitting there for absolutely ages I got a hot chocolate too. They do SO many different flavours and I think I had a minty one but I honestly can't remember now.
We didn't set off home until like 4pm. It was crackers! But amazing! We had just laughed and chatted all day which I sorely needed.
I was wearing a new to me dress from Topsy Curvy. Georgina of She Might Be Loved designed this for Topsy Curvy and I absolutely love the design, with leopards and roses on it. I didn't buy it when it came out, though, so when Georgina was getting rid of it I immediately said yes please. It's so stretchy and comfy and I just love the pattern so much. I wore it with a black cardigan and black footless tights because it was warm enough walking round Meadowhall with no jacket.
