Trip to Wales - Day 4

Tuesday of our break was Lee's birthday! I had got him just a couple of presents because the trip was his main present, so I got him a t-shirt and two books - the Big Green Roasting tin one which is vegetarian and vegan recipes all made in one dish, and Ruby Tandoh's Eat Up which I thought he would like. He was pleased with them :)

We decided to go to Aberystwyth to go to the seaside, and just as we were leaving the Airbnb the owner Mike spoke to us, and he recommended we go over the mountain tops to Macynlleth and then down to Aberyswyth, so we did. It was pretty foggy on the tops but still had some nice views, and it was nice go through Macynlleth although we didn't stop. We got into Aberystwyth and went to the seafront. It is a gorgeous seaside town and we think we'd like to visit again and stay there for a couple of nights in one of the seafront hotels.

We first had lunch sitting on on the promenade which was lovely. Then we went into the arcade and played some games. We came out and had huge ice creams in the sunshine, which were lovely. We drove back on the main road, quite early, because we wanted to relax a bit in the cabin before we went out for food to celebrate Lee's birthday.

We went to The Raven in Welshpool for tea which was nice, Lee chose it. It was really newly refurbished inside and the tables were all old and really lovely. I had creamy curried mushrooms in a poppadum, then battered halloumi and chips, then chocolate mousse which I couldn't finish even though it was so good! Lee had bread, then chicken and roast veg pie with mash, then chocolate mousse. The food was excellent - really fresh and home cooked.

All in I can't believe we had such a lovely few days away. It felt like a real luxurious place to stay and I'm glad we took the time to just sit in the cabin as well as get out to see things. I've never been to mid Wales before and I'm not sorry we went!

By this time the chicken was trying to bring herself in!

I wore my green lollidot dress during the day, you can't see the colour too well but I've posted this photo before

Dylife valley

I love the geology of valleys! I get it from my grandma

Proving it was foggy over the tops

Ice cream! I had candy floss and salted caramel, and Lee had mint and strawberry

I wanted to get photos like these because we don't have any and I think they're cute! So here's Lee kissing me

And here's me kissing Lee!
