Bottomless Brunch in York

At the end of the summer I had a trip to York to see my friends Sam and Jac. Jacqui lives in York so we often go to hers to hang out. It was ten years since Jac and I met in person so we wanted to do something to celebrate that. Sam suggested going out for bottomless brunch so we booked a table at All Bar One for 1pm.

It is £25 each and I would say it's definitely worth that. We were shown to our table and given the main menu as well as the bottomless brunch menu. There are about six choices for brunch; Sam and Jac both went for the steak sandwich and I went for eggs royale and added some chips. Then you can choose from either a glass of prosecco, a Bloody Mary, or a mimosa. We all went for mimosas which are champagne mixed with orange juice.

The food came quickly and was really delicious. The drinks were good, and while I didn't feel like the waiters were hovering over us, they were pretty quick to notice our glasses were empty and offer another. You can change which drink you have, which is good, and which I might do if I went again, but we all stuck with mimosas as they were yummy. You get two hours from the time you order food to drink for free, which is a really generous time slot. We had dessert too and about ten minutes before the end of our time slot a waiter came and told us that, and asked if we'd like one last drink. I think it was done really well in a busy restaurant, I was pretty impressed.

After we'd eaten we walked to the Minster yard, because there was a temporary bar there that Jac wanted us to see. It was Thor's tipi and while there's outside space it was raining so we headed inside where it's really cosy. There are boxes and benches all over to sit on, and a real fire in the middle to keep it warm! We sat on the edge and had some wine, but then a bench came free round the fire so we moved there for a bit to appreciate the heat. It was a cute little bar, I'm glad we went!

After that we went back to Jacqui's and spent the evening watching rubbish on TV and chatting, it was lovely and just what I needed - I haven't laughed that much in ages

I wore my Simply Be lemon dress and green cardigan which came from Peacocks. I rarely wear this dress as it's very loud and I have to be in the right mood for it, but it seemed perfect for the day and certainly cheered me up in the rain.

What I Wore 8th May in France

We sadly had to come home on the 8th of May, I would've liked to stay in France about a week longer! I'd love to live there one day. I was complimented on my excellent French and I learnt the words for "shooting star": etoile filante! That'll come in useful I'm sure!

We had to leave for the airport around 3pm but then our flight was delayed which was a pain, but we finally got home around 9pm and Ivy was very happy to see us! This is what I wore to travel in. It was comfortable and neither too hot nor too cold.

You've seen this yellow Scarlett & Jo skirt before, here, but I haven't worn it as much as I've worn the others that I have. Yellow is such a lovely summery colour though so I'll try to wear it again. My black top was from Evans, it actually has a peplum hem that I don't much like so I wear it tucked in. The green cardigan was from Peacocks and I've worn it lots - in fact it's starting to bobble, boo.

It was very windy so excuse my slightly wild hair!

Fifty Shades of... Pink?

On 11th August I had to go into town to run a few errands, and I met Lee for lunch. I got him to take this photo of me.

What I Wore 6th June

6th June was another clothes swap in Leeds and although it wasn't as populated as previous ones, a bunch of my favourite people were there so it ended up just being a rad hang out which was lovely. Here's what I wore:

I love this Asos dress, it's just so WEIRD, I love it! It's very easy to wear. I paired it this time with this kelly green cardigan from Peacocks, black leggings, and my Converse.

Close up on the tattoo print on the Converse. I love them and I got a bunch of compliments on them. I don't wear them often but I really should!

What I Wore May 30th

This is my outfit from the day of Northwest Zine Fest but I thought I'd give it its own post to show it off properly.

I bought this dress off Debz as I missed out on it the first time round and just loved it. It's sleeveless so I would want to wear a cardigan with it, so I decided on this kelly green one from Peacocks which I also haven't worn before. Peacocks only go up to a size 22 but these cardigans are just great on me - in fact this is the most generous of the three I got (the others are pink and mint green)

Lemons! When life gives you lemons, make them into a dress!

What I Wore 11th April

I've been writing writing writing and I finally got to a good threshhold on Saturday 11th April. Our new kitchen was sitting in flat packs in the old kitchen which made cooking really difficult, so Lee and I decided to go out for tea. I wanted Mexican food but there's no Mexican restaurant in Barnsley. Lee remembered that there's a Las Iguanas in Meadowhall, so off we went.

I recently got these cardigans from Peacocks for £10 in the sale. I got a kelly green one, a mint green one, and this pale pink one. They're a size 22 but they fit me well enough.

The dress I got from the clothes swap in Sheffield, I believe it was originally Lolly's. It's a Lovedrobe one, I love the pattern on it.

My rose quartz necklace is from Pookledo.
