26th June was our 13th wedding anniversary, which is just unbelievable to me! It feels quite weird. We went to Porthleven, so I'll post more about that in the next post, but here's what I wore.
I got this Joe Brown's dress in the sale from Simply Be recently and had been saving it for my holiday. It's a really nice thick cotton, and it has a little bit of layering at the bottom which makes it a little bit special. It has elastic shirring at the back and nice thick straps. I love Joe Brown's dresses, I think they're always nice quality and the styles look good on me.
I wore it with this white cardigan from Sainsburys which I've had forever - however I ended up binning it because it was stained in places and ended up covered in suncream. I'm now on the look out for another short sleeved white cardigan with buttons!

Amy & Mike's Wedding
In the middle of August my lovely friends Amy and Mike got married under a tree in a field in Cheadle. It was so lovely, so DIY, so them. They hired a Scout hut that had two fields behind it, and they and lots of their friends were camping in one of the fields for the whole weekend. Lee and I went over on the Saturday morning and stayed in one room in the bunk house.
The ceremony started around noon and was under a huge, very beautiful tree. Amy's dad conducted it, which was really nice. I was asked to read the bit which ends "Love is patient, love is kind" from 1 Corinthians, which was a huge honour and privilege. Amy and Mike lit candles together and we all clapped, which is one of those things I love about weddings.
We had mojitos to celebrate, and then photos, and then headed into the Scout hut for the wedding breakfast. It was delicious - fresh bread, butter, salads, cured meat, olives, all kinds of delicious stuff like that. Then the music festival began - there were bands playing, and tea and cake, and a cinema tent, and a fire pit, and a bar, and temporary tattoos and glitter, and paella to eat. It was so much fun, and by the end of the night I was sitting contentedly by the fire with a glass of white wine talking to my friend Michelle.
There are five of us who went to 6th form together and are all still friends. We meet up at Christmas and try to see each other during the year too, but it doesn't always work out that way! I haven't seen Ailsa for two years, since Gillian got married in July 2015. She and her partner came from Oxford but could only stay for a few hours as they had a family party to go to in the evening. Gillian recently had a baby (I made her the baby blanket) so she and Tom left around 8pm I think to get Lily home. Michelle is a pastor and she'd been in Glasgow conducting a wedding earlier in the day, so she didn't manage to get to Amy's wedding until around 9.30 but then she and I had a really nice conversation.
Lee and I went to bed around midnight, the bunk room was warm enough and comfortable enough. Sunday morning started early and I was pretty hungover. I got dressed and headed outside where the sun was shining brightly. Amy's cousin offered me a cuppa, which I drank in the sunshine chatting to others, and then I felt a hundred times better. Gary and Elise were in charge of breakfast so sausage sandwiches and fruit appeared which was amazing. As we left we took cake, flowers, leftover mustard and pickled onions! It was such a lovely wedding and perfect for Amy and Mike.

Here's my photos:
The ceremony tree. Huge, gorgeous, and really old!
Lee and I, I really like this photo!
Amy and her brother coming from one side of the grounds (Mike and his family came from the other)
During the vows - this might have been when their dog Poppy brought the rings!
Emma and her daughter Sophie
Lighting the candle
Gillian and Tom and baby Lily
Amy and her gorgeous dress, which she bought as a basic and altered herself. Her flowers were gorgeously pretty, too, and I'm pretty sure she's never going to take that flower crown off.
Gillian and Ailsa and me. We managed to coordinate so well without meaning to! This is the best picture of my outfit. My dress is cream and lacy, it was from Asos years ago and I had totally forgotten about it until a few months ago. It still had the tags on! I thought I would save it for Amy's wedding. My cardigan is from Sainsburys, and my purple leggings are from H&M.
These little ducks were on the bridge of the stream, so cute.
Little details like this made it so perfect.
Ailsa and me. Even though I haven't seen Ailsa in two years, we have that kind of friendship where we can pick up a conversation as if we saw each other yesterday.
Father of the bride speech. Amy's mum did a speech first, which was lovely, then Glen, then the best man, then Amy, and then Mike.
Amy's speech
Amy has the most gorgeous writing. She's an artist.
Cakes in the cake tent! I think they were all vegan. They were certainly very yummy.
Later on Lee and I went back to our room to put warmer clothes on. I slipped my Sprinkle of Glitter wrap cardigan on as it has long sleeves. I also had my hoodie on. I was grateful to have a warm room to sleep in rather than a cold tent!
I was also uber glamorous and put socks on with my sandals. Parts of the site had turned very muddy with earlier rain and my sandals were the best shoes to navigate that, but I didn't want my feet to freeze either.
The fire pit. It had logs and benches all around it to sit on. I love campfires.
Sunday morning!
And finally, here are the flowers Amy gave me. They had been on the tables in the hut, and are just so Amy because they're yellow and white! Just so beautiful.

What I Wore 9th June
On the last day of our holiday we headed to Brantome, a town not too far away, to visit the market. I've got a ton of photos from there, but my mum just added this one on Facebook which showed off my outfit, so I thought I'd post it. Well, my stepdad most likely added it, since my mum's at work, but hey.
I love this dress. It's from Asos and it's so odd. I get loads of compliments on it. I usually wear it with a green short sleeved cardigan but it wasn't clean after I'd worn it earlier in the week, so I put this pink one on instead. It's from Sainsburys and is really soft. I really like how it seems to lift the dress and make it look whiter maybe? I'm not sure. Definitely in love with this outfit, though.
My handbag is from Sainsburys too, I bought it a few weeks ago specifically for the holiday and it was really easy to carry but still fitted a lot in.

What My Mum Wore
I haven't done one of these posts in ages! But I took this photo of my Mum in December so I thought I'd post it. As a reminder, my mum is mid 50s and a size 18/20.
I also decided that she was cosplaying as Han Solo in this outfit, haha

What I Wore 3rd July
I had a hectic day on July 3rd, I went to an exhibition of crocheted/knitted bikes that I will write about later, and then I had a date with some rad fat lasses at Meadowhall. It was an exhausting day but I had fun!
I decided to wear this bright floral dress that I got recently from New Look. I chucked my cardigan on for warmth. I'm also wearing new leggings. Leah recommended them - they're from Very (So Fabulous) and they come in a two pack; there's a shorter pair (these are those and they come to my lower mid calf) and a longer pair, for £20 which I think is reasonable. I got these in a size 24 because I like my leggings tight.

What I Wore December 12th
I was invited to the Christmas party of one of my workplaces. We went to Little Tokyo in Leeds and I had a yummy bento box. This is what I wore.
This dress was from New Look last year and has been seen before. I love it; it's one of those pieces of clothing that makes me feel gorgeous.
The cardigan is from Sainsburys and is one of my go-to cardigans.
I must show you these boots. I bought them a couple of years ago from Simply Be in the sale. They're fake suede and are really comfortable. And they're PURPLE. Win win in my book!

What I Wore October 23rd
October 23rd was a loooong day. I went to uni at 11 to do some reading and some work. My lecture was 1.30-3.30 and then I sat in the cafe with some friends until 6pm when there is an evening masterclass. This week was a poet from America, I liked him. I missed the 7.30 train home though, so I didn't get home until 9pm. Phew!
I only ever wear dresses for uni, because that is the image I'm presenting. This lip print dress is from Asos Curve and I missed it when it was on sale. I'd been stalking it on eBay for ages, but Lolly gave me hers! Whee! The cardigan is from Sainsburys. My jewellery is all very pink and very junky, I love it.

Half-chiffon skirt, Yours
I love this cat t-shirt, how cute is it?!

Holiday Outfit #3
I bought this dress in the Simply Be sale at, like, Christmas, and kept it new for when I went on holiday. It's strapless, so I teamed it with my white cardigan. Because it was so hot I was wearing my hot almost all the time on holiday.
Dress, Simply Be
Cardigan, Sainsburys
Hat, Sainsburys
Please excuse the can of Fanta that I'm trying to hold out of shot!
Close up of the gorgeous lace on the neckline
Close up of my leggings, which came from eBay a couple of years ago. Really cool in the heat!

Magnificent 7th - another holiday outfit
Okay, I admit, this is kind of a cheat. I did not take this photo with this challenge in mind, but I completely forgot about Magnificent 7th, so I looked through my photos to see what matched the criteria.
The challenge this month was "barbecue". Now I absolutely love a barbecue - we even had one at our wedding! I would wear something quite simple and relaxing.

I'm wearing:
White cardigan, Sainsburys, only £8
Neon pink camisole, Simply Be
Half lined chiffon skirt, Yours Clothing
I loved the simplicity of this but with the pop of colour of the vest. It's much brighter in person! I also like how the skirt shows off my legs without flashing too much flesh.

Magnificent 7th - well, 9th
I'm a bit late in posting this as I didn't get chance to do it earlier.
This month's theme was maxi. I don't own mane maxi dresses, just three. This one, a purple one that's the same, and a black tiered one. I do like them, but I prefer to wear my dresses with leggings.
Anyway I wore this today for my mum, stepdad and grandma coming over for roast dinner.

White cardigan - Sainsburys, £8, I love it
I'm standing outside my back door. You can excuse the shelves next to me - we're redecorating the living room and we're gloss painting the shelves!
