Weekend in East Yorkshire - Day 3

On the Sunday of our trip we went swimming at 11am as it was the only time that was available on the Sunday - I don't know if that's because people generally leave on Sunday or what. But it was still a nice swim. Afterwards we got showered and had some lunch before heading down to Spurn Point. You can't drive as far down as you used to be able to, so we parked by the discovery centre and had a hot drink there. We could just about see the lighthouse right on the very end of the point.

We stopped at somewhere on the way back where clearly a lot of the cliffs and maybe even some buildings that used to be there have slipped into the sea. Look at the jetty, it's totally destroyed. It was interesting to see.

We went back into Withernsea and played in the amusements for a bit and then had an ice cream - mine was covered in raspberry sauce which I love! We popped into the Bengal Lancer to get a menu and it turned out they would deliver food right to our van, so we ordered food from them at around 6.30. It was so nice to not have to go out to collect it, but of course we would have if needed. The food was really nice so we were glad we'd done that.

On the Monday morning we packed everything up and then had breakfast in a cafe in Withernsea before drivng home. It was such a lovely weekend together!

If you look really closely you can see the lighthouse on Spurn Point in this photo
