Valentine's Day 2025

I'll actually start with the 13th of February, when Lee and I headed over to my mum's house to see her and have some tea with her and my stepdad. We had a nice night and as my mum had been declared cancer free we had some champagne to celebrate! So that was lovely. It isn't worth a whole post by itself except for my outfit.

I was wearing a new My Little Pony t shirt that Lee bought me for Christmas. I had one but the print wore off it so I had asked Lee for another, but this was the first time I had worn it. It's very soft and cosy so perfect for wearing in the winter. As you can see I paired it with my lollidot skirt that used to be a dress but which I cut off to wear more, although I haven't actually worn it in ages before this.

Then I put my new boots on - which were a bargain from Vinted, remember - and some new tights. I had recently bought a few pairs from Snag, and some pants because I wanted to try them, and this was one of the pairs. They're supposed to look like marl and they're red and black and I thought for the winter they were really nice.

On Valentine's Day I had arranged to meet up with my friend Gillian. We had had a joke that as it was Valentine's we were on a date, and I decided to play into that so I stopped off and bought her a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates. Then I drove to Arthur's Cafe in Mirfield which is near to her house, and I was there before she was so I ordered an After Eight hot chocolate while I waited.

When she arrived she had bought me a bunch of flowers too! It was too funny! Hers for me were beautiful purple tulips, which you can see in my final photo. They were lovely!

The food at Arthur's is also really lovely. I had Bombay potatoes and salad on a flatbread, which was really nice. Then I had a scone with jam and cream which was warm and extremely delicious too! It was nice to talk to Gillian for a long while. And it was nice to have a Valentine's meal with her!

Don't fret though - Lee and I had decided to not buy each other anything much but to save our money until later in the year when we wanted something in particular. I did buy him a box of chocolate orange truffles, and he got me a box of Black Magic. Perfect!

What I Wore February 19th

Lee wasn't working on February the 19th as it was a freebie day off for him, so I asked him if he wanted to go out for lunch and he chose for us to go to the Toby Carvery near our house. It's not my first choice usually but actually I was in the mood for it so I agreed. First of all I went to craft club in Penistone, as I do every Monday generally. Then I went home and picked Lee up and we went to the carvery. It was really busy! I think some kids were on inset days and they were having staff problems too.

But there were two courses for £11.49 so we both decided to get that. Now, the carvery does do a few vegetarian choices but I always find they're too much and that actually I would just like the vegetables, potatoes and stuffing etc. They used to advertise this but haven't for a while, but I decided I would just do that anyway. And indeed when I went up to the carvery counter there was absolutely no problem for me to not get any meat. I got everything else instead, including the cabbage, which was delicious, and the mac and cheese. It was delicious! I really enjoyed it and it was nice to spend time with Lee as I had barely seen him all week. We both also had whipped ice cream sundaes for pudding.

I relaxed for the rest of the day but I was glad we had gone out for lunch. I was wearing my Scarlett & Jo skirt which I usually say is purple, but it's almost the same colour as my new Hamilton t shirt... which is definitely blue. So really who knows. They do look good together though! It wasn't freezing cold so I had just put on my huge new strawberry jumper from Snag. It's so cosy!

Deeeeelicious carvery lunch! I like mine with lots of mustard

And here you can see my new t-shirt! It's really soft and lovely, in a 2XL. I really liked the Schuyler sisters so had to have this!

New Lizzo T Shirt

At the beginning March Lee and I had to go to Ossett to pick up the pottery that Sam and Jac and I had painted a few weeks previously. We then decided to go to the Food Warehouse in Wakefield as we 'd run out of freezer stuff and we like the range there. Then after a conversation with my mum we decided to go have lunch there - I wanted to get some Indian stuff from one of the petrol stations but even though I only went a few weeks ago it seems like it's not there anymore, which is a shame. Instead Lee got KFC and I got Burger King and we got Cinnabon for all of us. It was nice to see my mum and stepdad. Lee was playing a gig in Sheffield in the evening so we didn't stay too long as Lee wanted to relax before he went out. But it was a nice morning out.

The pottery looks really good, I'm really happy with my three pieces, especially the cat. I would do it again, I found it relaxing.

I had decided earlier in the week to buy a Lizzo t-shirt. I'm not that familiar with her music but I like her and I wanted a fat woman on a t-shirt, too. I decided to go for this one in grey. It arrived so I wore it straight away with my skirt that used to be a dress and star tights. A good outfit for the morning!

Love this outfit for me!

My plate and Jac's teabag holder, I think the holder is my favourite things (it's Stede Bonnet)

My cat and bauble and Jac's Belle. I love the bauble too, it's not perfect but I like it
