What I Wore April 14th

In the middle of April we went to Durham because Lee's stepdad was turning fifty and Lee's sister had organised lunch for about twenty of us on Sunday. It's quite a long way to go there and back in a day but it was worth it, I think Gary appreciated it. Everyone put money in to buy him a day experience in a racing car which he'll really enjoy.

We got to meet Lee's brother Andrew's new girlfriend Libby, too, which was really nice. He's hopefully moving to Manchester soon to live with her, so we'll hopefully be able to go over a bit more to see him.

The pub was only doing Sunday lunches, with no veggie choices, so it was a bit confusing to get me something to eat but eventually I got nut cutlets with roast vegetables, Yorkshire pudding etc, all the stuff that comes with a Sunday dinner. It was really nice actually, with plenty of vegetables.

I had put on this Scarlett & Jo dress because it's really pretty but also quite comfortable to sit in the car in for hours. I used to wear it with my black cardigan but realised that this pink cardigan looks really good too, and makes it just a little bit more spring like.

I also picked these shoes up at a clothes swap a few years ago. They're handmade I think. They're really soft leather and comfortable inside. Thanks to whoever gave these away! I think they're cute.

When I stand I'm so lopsided!

Very cute shoes!

What I Wore on My Birthday

I couldn't decide what to wear on my birthday because I wanted something a bit special but didn't have anything new (I know! And me a blogger, too), so I thought about it and decided on this Scarlett & Jo dress. I haven't worn it in forever, but wearing it again I'm not sure why because it's lovely on and feels great.

It has a couple of layers which help it to poof out. I find the top shows my bra so I pin it closed with a couple of safety pins and it looks fine. I love the gros grain ribbon around the middle, and I of course love the pattern. I put it with my Claire Richards cardigan which I love but again don't wear often as it's long sleeved and quite thick. It's very cute, though. The press studs have little bows on them.

I wore pink jewellery including this necklace which is a pink apple with a glittery leaf on it, I'll have to try to remember to take a photo close up because it's very kitsch and I love it.

Sorry for the dimness of this picture, the kitchen lighting isn't ideal but it was last thing at night by the time I remembered to get a photo!

What I Wore 7th May in France

The 7th of May was the actual wedding of my godmother and her now-husband! They've been together for almost 30 years and engaged for a while, so it's really lovely that they got married too. It was a small wedding in terms of numbers, but it was utterly beautiful and I'm so happy.

My mum and I went shopping a few weeks ago to find her a hat and me a dress, and this is what I got. I love it, it's so swishy and I love the colours and the length. It was perfect for a wedding and I even braved bare legs because the weather was so lovely.

Funny story - I bought some pink sandals to wear, and when I went to put them on just before the wedding, I discovered one was a size 6, my size, but the other was a size 5 and wouldn't go on my foot! Fail! I'll be taking them back. Since my other sandals were bright yellow my mum very nicely lent me her white and silver sandals to wear as they looked a bit better!

My cardigan was from the Claire Richards collection a couple of years ago.

I know we all complain about hanky hems but in this case I think it looks gorgeous and works well for the dress.

Here's the bride and groom, don't they look lovely? A's dress was silver (it looks sort of green here, which it wasn't) and utterly beautiful.

And here's a photo of Lee and I towards the end of the evening when a lot of food had been consumed!
