Magnificent 7th - another holiday outfit

Okay, I admit, this is kind of a cheat. I did not take this photo with this challenge in mind, but I completely forgot about Magnificent 7th, so I looked through my photos to see what matched the criteria.

The challenge this month was "barbecue". Now I absolutely love a barbecue - we even had one at our wedding! I would wear something quite simple and relaxing.

I'm wearing:

White cardigan, Sainsburys, only £8
Neon pink camisole, Simply Be
Half lined chiffon skirt, Yours Clothing

I loved the simplicity of this but with the pop of colour of the vest. It's much brighter in person! I also like how the skirt shows off my legs without flashing too much flesh.

Magnificent 7th #

It's time for another round of Magnificent 7th!

This month's theme was "Beach"

Okay so I was on holiday in Benidorm last week so this is literally my beach wear! This is what I wore to sit around the pool in.

I took this in the hotel wardrobe mirror. I managed to get loads of outfit photos for you so there'll be lots to see in the next few weeks!

It may not be the most glamourous outfit in the world but it does the job. I do like sunbathing but when it gets too hot I like to cover up with a long skirt. This one was made for me by my mum about 7 years ago!

The top was from New Look just a couple of weeks ago and was a bargain £8. It's loose and cool so perfect for the beach.

Here's without the top so you can see my swimming costume. It's just black with a purple trim, it came from Simply Be about six months ago. However it died on holiday so I'm in the market for a new cossie yet again!

Magnificent 7th - well, 9th

I'm a bit late in posting this as I didn't get chance to do it earlier.

This month's theme was maxi. I don't own mane maxi dresses, just three. This one, a purple one that's the same, and a black tiered one. I do like them, but I prefer to wear my dresses with leggings.

Anyway I wore this today for my mum, stepdad and grandma coming over for roast dinner.

Red maxi dress - Forever 21+, a couple of years ago
White cardigan - Sainsburys, £8, I love it

I'm standing outside my back door. You can excuse the shelves next to me - we're redecorating the living room and we're gloss painting the shelves!

Magnificent Seventh #2

Welcome to the next Magnificent Seventh post! I'm a little late but I have a good excuse - I had an MA coursework deadline yesterday and I was working flat out!

This month's theme was floral, and by coincidence this is what I wore on Sunday. I was in Manchester staying with my lovely friend Michelle, and then I went to a zine fest in Victoria Baths with my lovely friend Ingrid.

Floral dress - New Look
Black shrug - Simply Be
Leggings - New Look

I'm standing in my friend's spare bedroom, hence the pillow and luggage behind me!

Magnificent Seven #1

Beth has created a clothing challenge called Magnificent Seventh - on the 7th of each month a group of us will be shopping our own wardrobes to create styles upon some really fun themes.

This month is MONOCHROME. Now I originally thought this just meant black and white, and although I wear black sometimes, I don't like to wear totally black. I spent too long hiding my body in black shapeless clothes, so I now avoid just black where possible. If I do wear a black dress, I wear it with bright leggings.

I do often wear black and white and brown for work, but my work clothes tend to be REALLY boring, so instead I looked monochrome up on Wikipedia and found it can be shades of the same colour. I instantly knew which outfit I'd share.

This peach dress is from New Look, I got it about this time last year. It's a really gorgeous style on me; I have three dresses in this style now.

Lee took this photo, the sun is so bright but that's gorgeous, I love sunny weather!

The shrug is from Yours Clothing, I got it at the end of last year in the sale. They have lots similar, though.

This is a close up of the print.

So yes, this IS monochrome, because it's two shades of peach!
