What My Mum Wore on Holiday

As I said, we recently went on a cruise with my mum and stepdad. I do want to write about it, but I'm finding it difficult. We did so much, and while I would normally write about each day, I'm not sure if that'll work. I've got lots of photos to share from both my phone and from actual cameras, I just need to decide the exact format. I might start with some outfit posts, because I wore some really lovely stuff on holiday!

Anyway, I definitely wanted to share this outfit my mum wore, firstly because she looks great but also because she made it herself! Isn't that impressive? It's a skirt and top in this gorgeous hot air balloon fabric, so she could wear them separately. She has worn the skirt with a plain white top too. The skirt is a mock wrap, and she used the same material as bias on the top which I think is a really lovely touch and much better than a plain bias.

What My Mum Wore

I haven't done one of these posts in ages! But I took this photo of my Mum in December so I thought I'd post it. As a reminder, my mum is mid 50s and a size 18/20.

I also decided that she was cosplaying as Han Solo in this outfit, haha

Bow jumper - Tu at Sainsburys
Leggings - Yours
Boots - Evans - she got them for half price, they were £100 and she paid £49.50, and they're real leather!

What My Mum Wore

Here's another post of What My Mum Wore. She's a size 18/20 and mid 50s. She wore this on Boxing Day.

Her leggings are the ones you saw previously (her first pair!) from Yours Clothing. Her jumper/tunic combo is from a shop in Bawtry near Doncaster, where she likes shopping as there's quite a lot of upmarket independent shops. There is a separate white shirt and blue jumper here, so they can be worn separately, but when worn together they are joined by a button from the shirt to the jumper.

I really like this piece, I think it's different and looks great on my mum.

What My Mum Wore Christmas Edition

Here's another edition of What My Mum Wore. She's a size 18/20 and mid 50s. She bought this dress from Yours in Leeds when we went at the beginning of December. It was reduced to just £17 which is a total bargain! I think it looks gorgeous on her.

The tights I gave to her as they were in my goodie bag from the bloggers meet up at Meadowhall in December and they wouldn't fit me, they look great here!

Sorry about the glare from the Christmas tree lights, I don't know why she insists on blue lights!

What My Mum Wore

Another edition of What My Mum Wore! To remind you, she's mid 50s and a size 18/20. On a shopping trip to Leeds recently she made her first foray into leggings and dresses. She bought herself leggings and a dress, and I bought her a dress that will be a Christmas gift. I'm very proud of her that she picked up things that she wanted, even though she was worried she was too old for this look (she isn't - no one is. Wear what you like!)

She sent me this picture that she had worn and had a lot of comments about. This tunic was from Evans a few years ago and the leggings are in Yours.

What My Mum Wore

My mum was away in France for a week, I'm so jealous. She and my stepdad were visiting my godparents and I asked her to send me some more outfit photos as I get a lot of pageviews and comments about them. As a reminder my mum is mid 50s and a size 18/20.

The top is from Wallis and the trousers are from Yours. My mum likes Wallis a lot and I do think they do a lot of classy clothes.

What My Mum Wore

Welcome to another instalment of What My Mum Wore. To remind you, my mum is in her mid 50s and a size 18/20.

It was my stepcousin's birthday so my mum and stepdad went over to see him and the rest of my stepaunt's family. My mum is in their garden in this photo.

The top is from Wallis, the trousers are BHS, and the shoes are from Yours. You can't see them clearly but they're floral sequin flats - I might steal them!

What My Mum Wore

This is the second part of my mum's anniversary post. She went away to quite a nice hotel so had to dress up for dinner. As a reminder, she's mid 50s and a size 18/20.

This dress was from Debenhams Collection, as was the cardigan. For reference, my mum is about 5'5", she's slightly shorter than me

I think you'll agree my mum looks great here!

What My Mum Wore

Time for another edition of What My Mum Wore! She's mid 50s, a size 18/20, and seems to enjoy being featured on my blog!

She went away with my stepdad for their wedding anniversary. They got a really good deal on Groupon for a hotel on Haweswater in the Lake District. It must have been quite posh as she had to take posh frocks! This one of them. She originally bought it for the wedding of one of Norman's sisters.

The dress and the cardigan were both from Jacques Vert, where my mum likes to get her posh clothes!
The bag was a gift from my step-aunt, so we're not sure where it's from.

What My Mum Wore

Time for the 3rd instalment of What My Mum Wore! Again, my mum is mid 50s, a size 18/20 and dresses really classically I think. I actually love this outfit on her - the skirt is so vibrant and she pairs it with a lot of different tops to make new outfits. I love this top, too, it's a lot of fun and looks great. I'd kill for a dress with this pattern!

The skirt is BHS and the top is from Wallis, both a while ago though.

What My Mum Wore

Welcome to the 2nd of this occasional series "What My Mum Wore". As before, my mum is mid 50s, and a size 18/20. I hope that some older women can see that plus size fashion isn't just for young people! I think you'll agree that my mum looks fab!

Skirt - Marks & Spencer
Top - New Look

I love this skirt - it's such a bright vibrant colour, and the top sets it off beautifully.

What My Mum Wore

I decided recently it might be nice to showcase my mum sometimes on this blog! My mum is mid 50s, a size 18/20 and always looks fab! She and I have some similar styles but she sticks to quite a classic colour palette, and she also wears trousers a lot more than I do. I'm hoping to make this a semi-regular feature. There are always plenty of photos of my mum around as my stepdad takes hundreds!

Recently she went on holiday with my stepdad and his mum and stepdad and I asked my stepdad to make sure he got full body shots of my mum for this feature. So, without further ado, here's the first What My Mum Wore!
