What I Did 4th April

I had a very busy day on the 4th of April and I thought I would meet myself coming back but it was actually all fine. First of all, I needed to go swimming early on and have a shower afterwards because I was having my hair cut later in the day and needed clean hair for it. But we couldn't go first thing because my mum was having her shopping delivered between 10 and 11 so couldn't set off until it had come. Then I needed to go to the post office. We no longer have one in our village, but there's an outrach one at the library every Thursday between 10 and 11, so I wanted to make it to that. Then just as I was getting ready to go out my friend Sarah messaged me to ask if I wanted to meet her for lunch shortly after noon. She was in Penistone getting tattooed. I said yes, of course, as I hadn't seen her since the beginning of March, and it had been R's birthday so I wanted to pass her presents across.

So. I left the house in the new car and went to the post office to post my stuff. My mum still hadn't messaged but I drove to the gym anyway and then got a hot chocolate and waited. My mum texted me to say she had set off but I knew she would be a while so I got in the pool. I had a new swimming costume as I recently got four from Simply Be - two are more sporty for the gym and two and just fancy ones for my holidays. It's nice, it's an Ellesse one and it's ombre coloured between orange pinks and purples, so I like it! Nice and colourful.

My mum arrived not long after I started swimming. We stayed in until about five to twelve and then I had a shower and got dressed. I set off to Penistone and met Sarah at Holme. It used to be something else and I haven't been since this opened. There's another branch of the cafe in Holmfirth but I haven't been there either. So I wanted to try this! It was lovely. I had avocado toast on sourdough, with added feta and mushrooms, and a decaf latte. It was delicious! The place is really busy so I was glad Sarah had managed to snaffle us a table. We turned out to be sitting next to two people from my book club which is weird!

We said goodbye about 1.30 and I drove home. I then had a few hours at home before I needed to go out again. Lee and I went into Barnsley so I could get my hair cut. First of all though I went into Foster's book shop to buy presents for a friend. It's a lovely little book shop and has books from £2.50 up to like £100 and so on, for special editions. I am often tempted to give something a go if it's just £2.50! I bought myself a mystery book but I haven't actually opened it yet!

Then I went to Coven to get my hair cut. It's a coffee shop/tattoo shop/piercing shop in the Victoria arcade and it's such a nice welcoming place. I have had my piercings changed in there but nothing else so far. But I saw that they have an autism friendly hair salon so I booked myself in. I hate having my hair cut as it's just a nightmare for me but it really needed doing as due to my anaemia it was looking really tatty at the ends. No wonder though as I last had my hair cut in March 2023 when Lee's mam did it for me on Mother's Day! I just had a dry cut and Chloe was really lovely and I would really recommend going if you're nearby. They are trans positive and charge just for what type of cut you have, which is ideal. I really liked it, and I'll be back!

After that Lee and I just headed home to have tea. I was wearing my leopard print dress from Boohoo - I do still think it's a bit short on me but with leggings underneath I think it's absolutely fine.

My delicious lunch - I'm glad I added feta

Waiting for Lee just when I had had my hair cut. My hoodie is from Yours originally but I got it off Vinted for about eight quid I think. It's soft and comfy

Here's a better look at my shorter hair and my lovely dress!
