What I Wore October 10th

On October 10th Lee and I went to my mum's house for a fancy meal. She had got some vouchers for Cote at Home, so we had all chosen three courses like a month previously and it all turned up at my mum's house on the Friday morning. We had all forgotten what we'd ordered! When I'd looked at the menu there weren't tons of options but I went for a pea and mint risotto.

We shared starters and sides, and there was tons of food - we didn't finish all the sides. My risotto was okay, but a bit too minty for me. The best part was the chocolate mousse I had for pudding. It was nice food, but nothing spectacular, we all decided. But we had some drinks together and had fun, which was the main thing - especially as a week later West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire were both locked down and not allowed to mix indoors again. I'm glad we got that date in!

I pulled out this ancient H&M dress to wear. I love the pattern on it. It's quite short so I usually wear it on holiday, but I wanted something cheerful so there we go. I wore it with cropped leggings and this cropped jumper from New Look that I've had for years too. I love the colour of it and I think it goes with the dress really well.

What I Wore December 24th

On Christmas Eve we were still in Durham. Lee's mam made hot beef sandwiches and we gave the kids their Christmas presents and stuff. I always love these days before Christmas in Durham, they're so busy and full of people.

I took this picture of Lee and his brothers, it's not often they're all in the same place so I snapped a picture. Unfortunately Andrew has his eyes closed...!

Debz had reminded me that I own this pink skirt from H&M. It's similar to the Sprinkle of Glitter one, but is plain, and pinker. I decided to pair it with this top from Yours that I bought recently, I've posted it before.I liked this outfit, I thought it was very festive. I took this photo when we got back home. My mum and stepdad were at ours for Christmas so they arrived about 6pm and we all had tea together.

My stepdad struggles with stairs so we said my mum and he could have our bedroom and we would sleep upstairs in the attic. Ivy was very confused! She slept on my head and woke us up at 5am because she was cold, so we put the space heater on. Do you like my festive bedding?

What I Wore September 10th

I headed off to my craft club on the morning of the 10th of September. I go most weeks; it's at Penistone library from 10-12.30, so only about fifteen minutes drive from my house. There's about 30 members, but that many people never come at the same time so there's anything from half a dozen to eighteen of us. This day there were about 13, with a couple of people popping in. I really like it; I just take my craft and get on with it and listen to the conversations around me for the most part, although I'm friendly too obviously. Some people start packing up around 12, but I usually stay until half past and do "just one more stitch".

Afterwards I popped to the shop for some lunch. I'd had some kind of stomach bug which meant I'd not been eating much, but I finally felt a bit better so got a sandwich and a chocolate twist :)

I got this top off Bettie; she'd bought it in H&M when rushing, so she'd not looked at it carefully and didn't realise it had the "frilly bits" on the sides, which she didn't like. She thought I would like it, and I do. I hadn't got round to wearing it as I've been having problems with nude bras, in that I can't find a decent one, but I was late to craft club so just pulled it out and put it on with an orangey bra underneath. I decided it utterly didn't matter and I honestly don't think it does! It's a nice soft material, really comfortable to wear, and I like the style. I'll definitely wear it again soon!

What I Wore 9th June evening

When we got back from Brantome we all spent the rest of the day around the pool, enjoying a last swim before we had to come home. Once again I had a shower and then put this dress on. I haven't worn it before although I bought it forever ago when Leah bought it too. I tried it on a couple of months ago but felt it was a bit too short and tight, but again, when I'm on holiday I just don't care as much. Having seen the photo I think it looks fine, so I think it's one of those dresses where I need to fake it til I make it!

It's a nice, cool cotton, and has a cute little pocket on the chest. It has a nice tie that I decided to tie at the front, but you could equally tie it at the back. I love the pattern and the colours!

Rocamadour and What I Wore July 1st

Near to where we stayed in France was a place called Rocamadour which is a town built into the hillside. We parked at the top, by the chateau, and got the cable car down through the rock to the middle, where the church is. We then got in a lift and went to the bottom, where the town is. We had very yummy crepes for lunch, wandered around the town a bit, and then got the lift back up to the church. The shops sold the most amazing Catholic tat, and a friendly nun said hello to everyone. We got the cable car back up to the top and looked out on the town. It's a really nice place, I would recommend a visit if you're in the area!

I wore this rose print top from H&M

My mum assured me that the cable car was just like going into Gringott's Bank

The chateau at the top

Shops in the town

Lee's amazing crepe

The church and its surroundings

It was really pretty, I would definitely go again

What I Wore December 27th

On December 27th my stepdad's sister and her family came over to my mum's house and we had a buffet and played silly games and stuff. I love my step-aunt, she's lovely. Here's what I wore:

This tulle skirt was recently from H&M and it has been all over the place on the plus size blogger circuit! In fact you can see Debz' post featuring five fat babes wearing it here! I loved it and bought it straight away. I'm wearing the 3xl but it is so generous with lots of stretch so I'm sure smaller sizes would fit me.

The top is from Primark and is a size 20 but stretchy jumpers like this often fit me. It is quite shirt which is why I wore a grey t-shirt underneath, but in warmer weather I might think about baring my midriff!

What I Wore Sept 28th

Last week Lee and I were on holiday in Cornwall. He'd never been before, and it's somewhere I haven't been since I was little, so I booked our summer holiday there. We tend to go late on in the "summer" as it's cheaper, but we can't always guarantee good weather. However, we had beautiful days of sunshine and warmth, I didn't put my hoodie on once and barely needed my cardigan! I'll be showing some outfit photos and some holiday photos too :)

This grey top with a red patterned kiss on it came from H&M recently and it's perfect for bumming about it on holiday. It's a thin material but has a rough cut neckline which I really like, and nice length sleeves.

This was taken on top of the cliffs at Widemouth Bay, just near Bude where we stayed.

This photo was taken back at our cottage so you can see the pattern more closely. This top is quite see through, too; I'm glad I was wearing a pink bra!

Spotty top from H&M

Along with the green top from H&M that I showed you a couple of posts ago, I got this one. The green one is a 4XL, this is a 3XL, you can see how both fit me. I love this top and have worn it a few times for work. It's a nice size, length, and I love the sleeve lengths too. And of course I love the spots! It was only a few pounds so a real bargain.

I was surprised at the lowness of the back. I thought this was the front but the tag is there. I quite like it now but it took me a while to get used to :)

Please excuse my tired face. I had had a really busy day when this photo was taken!

What I Wore September 18th

I was away last week on a conference for one of my jobs (I am a self-employed bookkeeper and currently work for two charities and an ad agency). I went before in 2011 but I was newer in my post and less confident in myself generally, so I struggled through it. I wasn't really looking forward to going this time, but I actually had a really great time meeting new people and talking to my colleagues more.

I had recently bought some stuff from H&M. Their plus size collection is not amazing, but it does have great basics at good prices. I liked this top a lot; it has decent sleeves that meant I didn't need a cardigan while walking around outside, but it's quite thin so I didn't get too warm while I was inside (last time I had been way too warm inside). I also like the colour, it's a nice summer-to-autumn shade I think!

The top is £7.99 I think, such a bargain!
The skirt is the black skirt from Yours that I wear a lot

Thank you Yvonne for taking this photo!

Wales Outfit #1

Lee and I went to Rhyl while we were in Anglesey, to play in the amusements and stuff. While we were they I popped into the tiny Evans, and bagged a bargain!

I liked this dress when I first saw it in the Scarlett and Jo collection, but I probably didn't like it enough to pay full price for it. But this was on the sale rail for only £15, it was the only one, and it was my size! It definitely had to come home with me.

I wore it out to a lovely restaurant one night, and wore a ton of makeup (by my standards). I felt pretty spiffing!

Lipstick is MAC Russian Red

Dress, Scarlett & Jo
Leggings, H&M
Shoes, eBay

I'm showing more VBO than I'd usually like, too. But I thought fuck it and wore it anyway!

This was my yummy dessert.

And here's my face, I love this photo even though I was too warm!

What I Wore 25th September

I've been out today with my friend Leanne. She's one of the loveliest people I know but we haven't seen each other in ages, so we went for lunch in Wakefield. It was yummy, we went to the Handmade Burger Co, I had a lamb burger with feta and tzatziki, Greek style.

Here's what I wore:

Swallow print top, New Look
Skirt, Yours clothing
Leggings, H&M
Cardigan, New Look

This was my necklace, I bought it in Evans last night for only £3 in the sale! It's really blingy and fun.

What I Wore 27th May

Last weekend Lee and I went to the Lake District with my mum, stepdad, grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins. We had a big cottage which was really lovely and well-equipped, right in the middle of Ambleside. On Saturday Lee and I went to Keswick for a quick look round, and on Sunday we walked round Ambleside. On Sunday night we went out into the park at midnight to look at the stars and take light trails pictures! I'll share some of the photos when I can.

Monday was the Bank Holiday and it was also my mum's birthday, so it was nice that we were all together for it. This is what I wore:

Black leggings - H&M £7.99 (I love how tight these are at the ankles)
Black spotty skirt - Yours Clothing £9.60 in the sale
Striped top - H&M £7.99
Black cardigan - New Look, ages ago

My uncle took these photos, so thank you to him for that!

What I Wore 27th April, and Barratts shoes #1

On Saturday I worked in my friend Chloe's shop in Leeds (please do go into Bird's Yard if you're in Leeds - it really needs your business!) and I wore a new top and some new shoes, so I got Lee to snap a quick photo when I got home.

This top is from H&M, it's a 3XL. The 2XL fitted fine but was too short, so I swapped it for the 3XL. I loved the pattern and I love the sleeve length - just long enough but not too long! You can see my new tattoo just peeping on my right arm, by the way. I got it last Thursday and it's currently really really itchy!

The skirt is my staple Simply Be denim skirt.

This is a relaxed outfit, perfect for running around in.

A few weeks ago Kieron from the Barratts blog offered bloggers who haven't worked with Barratts before the chance to choose some shoes for review.

Now, I have a policy that I won't work with companies that I don't like - it's not worth it. But I like Barratts. I nearly always go in their shop when I go past one. They have a really good price range I think - cheaper shoes that are very fashionable and that you will only wear for a season or two, and more expensive ones that you know will last for years. I think my mum was right - cheap shoes don't last! For the past year I've been wearing Mary Jane Dr Marten shoes almost every day, they were expensive but they will last and last.

I have so many pairs of ballerina flats like this and I love them because they're just so cute. This pair was just £3 in the sale (they may have gone now though). They're pink with broderie anglaise which is just so gorgeous. I got them in my usual size 6 and they are perfect - flexible, comfortable, and oh so stylish!

I got another pair of shoes from Barratts which I'll review later. Thank you Kieron for the opportunity - I can't say no to free shoes!
